All Items in the Art & Gifts section and the Pick-A-Pattern shop here are fully customizable through Zazzle’s easy-to -use design tool. You can add your name, a monogram, or any other custom text or graphics, customize fonts, change background colors, and so on. Read on for instructions and tips…
While browsing the pattern images on this site, you can click (See on Products) to browse several items you can personalize and purchase from Zazzle. We also highlight products from Zazzle in our Art & Gifts section. From the Zazzle product page you can further customize these items, by scaling the pattern to make it larger or smaller, adding text elements, changing fonts, and so on. Have fun with it and make something that is uniquely yours! There is no risk because Zazzle offers a 100% satisfaction guarantee.
Note: Our Pick-A-Pattern tool generates a small subset of all the products Zazzle offers. If there is something you’d like that you don’t see, contact us, and we’ll try our best to make it for you.
Zazzle Customizing Tips
Filtering the Products
Once you click “See on Products” you will see a page of products from PatternAddict on Zazzle. From here, you can browse, page-by-page or filter the products by department, using the department list on the left side of the page.
Scaling Pattern Images
Our templates that generate products on Zazzle have been made to work with a wide range of the patterns we offer here at various sizes. If your favorite pattern doesn’t look quite right, you can try scaling the pattern up or down to get a better look for a specific product. From the Zazzle design tool, select the pattern image and use the + and – arrows to scale the pattern. You can use Ctrl with the +/- buttons to scale in smaller increments, or use Shift with the +/- buttons to scale in large increments.
If you get a message that your product may appear blurry or pixelated, you have passed the maximum scaling for the item and will need to reduce the scaling a bit to ensure good quality. If you get the error message, hold Ctrl and press the Scale Out (-) button until the error goes away.
Extra Design Elements
Many of the templates in the Pick-A-Pattern shop were created with extra design elements to give you more creative freedom in personalizing the items. These extra design elements are hidden below the pattern image in the stack of images for the product on Zazzle. For instance, we may have presented an item showing a monogram with a circular screen behind it, but you might prefer to add your name with a rectangular shaped screen behind it. You can hide or delete the monogram design elements, and use the rectangular label screen instead. You can also copy and paste to create more design elements. Or you can remove all the design elements if you prefer an uncluttered pattern.
Note that extra design elements are not included for every product, but we included them wherever we thought they made sense. Contact us if you are not able to get the type of customization you are looking for.
Editing Text
Some products default to monogram text while others have a longer text space. These are always customizable, so you can change an initial to a name or any text you desire. You can also change the text size, fonts, colors, and alignment using the buttons shown in the screen shot.
Zazzle saves your works in progress at regular intervals, so when you create an account and log back in again, you can pick up where you left off. You can also click the Save button at the top of the page to save it manually.
Add your own photos!
You can even add photos or other images from your own computer to the pick-a-pattern designs. So the pattern can be the background for your products and you can add one or more photos to decorate the front. Like so!
Final Check
Before you click the “Add to Cart” button be sure to view a larger preview of your product to make sure everything is just as you want it.
Have fun designing!
