Custom Fabric for the Discerning Crafter
I’m pretty thrilled about a new product Zazzle has just introduced… fabric by the yard! Since one of my Zazzle shops is called PatternAddict, you can imagine why this new product would excite me. As soon as I got the news, I started loading many of my hand-drawn patterns on to fabric and they are now for sale in my PatternAddict shop.

Pick-A-Pattern Fabric
I’ve also added fabric to the Pick-A-Pattern shop here on SuziQ Creations where you can choose a favorite pattern image and instantly see it on more than 60 products with just a click. Pick a pattern from our circle, square, and wood collections. Or try it now with the image shown to the right.
The choice is yours!
I don’t know about you, but I am not much of a trend follower. The patterns and colors I like are almost never found in the major brick-and-mortar stores where I live. If that sounds like you, you are going to love all the off-beat designs and customizable options that Zazzle offers–not just on fabric, but just about everything they sell. Within just a couple weeks of its introduction, the number of fabric offerings from Zazzle has already exploded to more than 34 thousand designs, many of which can be personalized with your choice of text, color, monogram initials, and more! And if you still can’t find what you like among all that, you can load your own photos or design and create your own unique fabric from scratch.
Customizable Fabrics from PatternAddict
These fabrics all let you choose any color for the main color, and the first two can be personalized with a monogram initial.
If creating your own custom fabric from scratch is something you’re interested in, Zazzle has a helpful video to get you started on designing fabric.
Don’t Settle for Second Rate
So you no longer need to settle for the popular trends and boring “same-old” designs that the local stores show you. Although I have not yet purchased fabric by the yard from Zazzle, I’ve bought a few fabric products from the same maker that produces the fabric for Zazzle, and the quality is fantastic!
Zazzle currently offers seven different types of fabric: combed, cotton, pima cotton, cotton twill, polyester poplin, polyester weave, ivory linen, and natural linen. Most of my PatternAddict fabrics are presented in the less expensive combed cotton or pima cotton options, but you can switch that to whatever fabric type you like.
Now, you may be thinking that the cost is on the high side, but this is definitely a grade above what you’ll get from Walmart–and it’s something completely unique. In addition, you’re supporting independent artists (real folks like me!) because Zazzle gives a portion of sales directly to the artists and creators who contribute designs. And when you factor in Zazzle’s constant rotation of sales and discounts, and the volume discount for 3 yards or more, it’s not unreasonable. By the way, you don’t need to buy a full yard of the custom fabric, either. If you need smaller quantities, it is sold in fat quarters, and as a 9×9 inch swatch.
If you’re a seamstress, quilter, crafter, fashion designer, or interior designer, you’ve got to explore the custom fabrics from Zazzle. Here are more hand-picked fabric designs to drool over from some of my Zazzle designer friends. I hope you like them.
