Four Color Schemes to Inspire You
I’ve decided to start a new feature on the site where I’ll create color schemes to inspire you. I initially was going to use my own photos for this project, but I’m really not that great of a photographer, and then I thought… why not share the beautiful images of some of the wonderful photographers I know, while giving them some exposure?
So for the first installment I am featuring the lovely images of my dear friend Liz Masoner along with links to where you can purchase prints and products of her nature photography.
Color Inspiration from the Nature Photography of Liz Masoner
We’ll start out with something I personally love to do… resting! This beach scene provides a soothing palette of sand colors and pale dusky blue. The broken shell on the beach gives us bolder splashes of burnt orange and a darker blue.
Look around this site, and its clear I love the combination of purple and orange inspired by the purple coneflower. Sage green provides the background for tints of violet with accents of orange and reddish brown.
The beautiful Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly perched on a pink flower provides the inspiration for this palette with pale pinks, shades of blue, pale green, and, yes… orange again!
As summer comes to a close we start to treasure those perfect days. Fluffy white clouds in a bright blue sky hang over a blanket of fresh green grass. Does it get any better? You supply the picnic basket!

“I love most forms of photography so expect to see cute kittens right next to dark industrial work. There is so much wonder all around us and I don’t want to miss any of it with my camera.”
